EIPP Development Cooperation Support Project kick off conference

Following the successful completion of development targets for Konza City in its first year, four new projects are now underway. The Kenya – Korea Smart City & Technology Forum

The Kenya – Korea Smart City & Technology Forum took place earlier this week and was graced by Mr. Eliud Owalo; the ICT and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Jae Myung Koh; Minister Counsellor, at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kenya, Eng. Tanui; CEO Konza Technopolis Development Authority, Kenneth Luasa; the Kenya Property Developers Association Chairman, Mr. Dukhwan Son; UN-Habitat, Senior Programme Officer and other dignitaries. The speakers emphasized on the importance of embracing Smart Technologies in the construction of residential and commercial properties.

Economic Innovation Partnership Program (EIPP) with Kenya - Final Reporting Seminar

The EIPP is aimed at fast-tracking development of smart city infrastructure at Konza Technopolis through special grants from South Korea. The three-year partnership will see the two states exchange expert knowledge on a framework for completion of three pivotal projects in Konza Technopolis.

Busan and Konza Video

This is a video that seeks to explore the connection between the port City of Korea, Busan and Kenya’s first smart city project, Konza Technopolis, by highlighting the developments in the city of Busan. It further showcases how Konza Smart City can emulate these steps to achieve the set development goals.

With Busan bidding for World Expo 2030 and with the first phase of  Konza Technopolis set to be complete in 2030, the two cities share a similarity, in that their goal is to solve urban challenges using technology, knowledge sharing and innovation.

As we move towards 2030, we hope that there will be opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between Kenya and South Korea so that together, we can see Konza and Busan transform into World Class Cities.
